Awaken In India
The awakening experience of a lifetime…
10-Day Advanced Spiritual Retreat
The 5 ways this will forever change your life…
1. Awakening Experience:
Find internal freedom from the modern trappings of attachment, busyness and distraction. You’ll leave your phones, career, to-do lists and addictions behind to come deeply home to yourself. This can be somewhat challenging at the start of the retreat, but as the days pass, you’ll feel progressively more whole in the innate fulfillment that you are. Alongside other like-minded participants, you’ll be doing several hours of advanced spiritual practice for several hours each day, which will unfurl your stress and open you to spirit.
2. The Wisdom of Consciousness:
From all the world’s spiritual traditions I’ve studied, nothing comes remotely close to the level of sophisticated understanding of consciousness within the Vedic Tradition. ‘Vedic’ comes from the word ‘Veda’ which means ‘wisdom’ or ‘to see’. I’ve spent almost 9 years and well over 100-days in retreat learning this knowledge and will be imparting to you the best of it during the 10-day experience. This will deepen the way you see and understand life and will become foundational to the way you see and lead others in your service work.
3. Learn Advanced Practices:
Although it’s an essential foundation, Vedic meditation is actually the beginning practice in a thread of tools for Consciousness Expansion. You’ll be learning several advanced techniques to bolster your Meditation to supercharge your intuitive capabilities, whilst integrating spirit into your body and worldly life. You will take these practices home with you as secret weapons you’ll use for the rest of your life. They will not only support your own precious evolution, but significantly improve your capacity to serve others.
4. Deep Healing:
The extended time and immersive nature of this experience, inevitably excavates deeply stored trauma to be alchemised and liberated. This is one of the biggest benefits that only an experience like this can offer. Shahna and I proactively guide somatic/emotional processes to help these deep layers to be safely moved each day. We are also available for additional support that is often required between sessions. One of the biggest intentions we bring to this retreat is to make everyone feel as safe as possible with us and the other participants.
5. The Devotional Magic of India:
One of the most beautiful aspects of travelling to this precious part of the world, is experiencing the culture of devotion to spirit that the locals live by. With a connection to God as their primary intention in life, people live with a faith and love that spreads an energy of magic throughout the lands. You will get to experience devotional ritual while on the retreat and learn the basics of what it means to build a unique and special (and non-religious) connection to God. You’ll be sewing seeds of love that will progressively bloom and thrive over the coming years.
This is not a sight-seeing tour…
The purpose of this retreat is the 5 points listed above.
For those of you that don’t know, being influenced by poverty, India can be one of the most chaotic, overwhelming and traumatic places in the world to travel. Not on this retreat though.
This experience is about decreasing stress, not adding to it with travel deadlines and hopping from one place to the next.
We will stay firmly rooted at the nourishing retreat centre and as we begin integrating out of the deep experience (in the last few days of the trip) we will visit some special places in Rishikesh.
Some photos from last year’s trip:
The Venue: Anand Lok
An eco-friendly private ashram and retreat centre designed for deep rest and spiritual transformation. Here, birdsong replaces alarms, trees replace walls, and the river washes away karma.
We chose this retreat centre for many reasons:
Firstly,
It’s deeply quiet and tranquil. Perched on a hill with spectacular views in the Himalayan forest, it’s the perfect place for deep spiritual practice, learning and transformation.
Secondly,
It’s in a particularly sacred location to our Vedic Lineage. The centre sits above the most sacred river in India, (the ‘Ganga’), exists within the foothills of the most sacred mountains of India (the Himalayas) and is walking distance from one of the most sacred caves in our tradition.
This cave is where the first human master in our tradition, Vasishta, obtained deep levels of spiritual realisation in what was estimated to be over 10,000 years ago. We will meditate in that very cave, pay our respects and be initiated by its deeply sacred and powerful spiritual energy.
Thirdly,
The meals are SO damn tasty, nourishing and healthy. All organic vegetables, fruit and dairy source ON the property, including their blessed cows they receive milk from.
This place is heaven on Earth and beyond a treat to spend 10 days doing the meaningful work that this retreat facilitates.

Because this is an intimate and incredibly deep experience, it’s important that all who attend be gently vetted of alignment to the desired group culture. The factors that are important to us are all participants having:
Some prior experience in personal and spiritual development
You must have learnt Vedic Meditation before attending
Aligned intentions of having a deeply transformational experience (Versus seeing it more of a holiday or tour)
Frequently Asked Questions
-
We would recommend doing some exploration before the trip starts, so you have space to be gentle and integrate afterwards. Feel free to reach out for travel tips.
-
Twofold. As you’ll learn if you attend, the experience in India is culturally and energetically irreplaceable. The magic of the land and the connection of our exact location with this tradition makes the experience significantly more potent.
Also, due to food, accommodation and experience costs being so much higher in Australia, even with flight costs added, you’d be paying a similar amount if not more if we ran the retreat in Australia. So you get a bonus overseas trip, cultural and spiritual experience of a lifetime.
-
As long as you arrive by midday on the 10th September, you are welcome to arrive up to a week early and enjoy the cultural experience of Rishikesh, which is one of the most sacred towns in the world.
If possible, we recommend adding 1-2 nights accommodation in Rishikesh afterwards so that you can integrate the experience, it’s acceptable if you can’t, but bonus awesome if you can.

Jolly Grant Airport - Dehradun

India Visa ($40 for 30-days)
Appropriate clothes for the experience (Approx. $100)
Food and accommodation if you wanna stay a few extra nights in Rishikesh (Approx. $200)
Shopping Money. I recommend buying some sacred items while there. (statues, crystals, malas etc.)
